After watching the movie “Blood Diamond” and doing a lot of research, my girlfriend and I are ethically opposed to the purchase of mined diamonds. We are in disdain of the following:

1) Death and carnage of innocent Africans in the conflict diamond trade.
2) The greedy, monopolistic practices of the DeBeers diamond cartel.
3) The artificial scarcity of diamond supplies created by said cartel, which keeps prices high.
4) The bombardment of diamond advertising and celebrity lifestyle which put millions of people deep into debt.
