They have the same clarity, color, cut, reflective ability, weight, and durability. They are NOT similar to other diamonds. They ARE diamonds! Its just that one is grown underground and one is grown in a lab (now that we have the technology). The ONLY way to tell is for a jeweler to use an eyepiece to see the engraving. So ladies out there, would you mind?

not if the person that gave it to me was up front about it. Actually, I prefer man made stones, they don’t use slave labor to get them from mines, they don’t fund Al Qaeda, they aren’t used for money laundering by the mob……
i guess its the thought the count but getting a man made diamond takes away from the thrill of a diamond its not longer rare and precious and a gift from the earth (like its a gift from your heart, who wants a gift from the lab)
personally i don’t know if i’d care because its about what it symbolizes and only a very materialistic women would be unhappy with a man made diamond…

One day my fiance took me to his lab and showed me how to create a diamond. Three weeks later he proposed to me with that diamond.
I have been in a relationship where I had the big diamond. The relationsip ended and the diamond was not nearly worth what he paid for it. Now I have met someone incredible, and I see that the diamond is nothing when you have the man. I have propsed to this man we get a man made diamond, with a kitchen remodel. let’s invest in ourselfs. You can get an amazing ring with gold for 500-1000. It is the man that counts, the relationshiop, not the perception we want to throw in people’s faces.

Why would you buy a diamond ring then ? Ask what she thinks of it, women know what they want ! You know that already, hence your question here.
It makes no sense to me at all. The diamond is used because it is a rare and precious object. That is a symbol for the seriousness of the proposal. Only the real thing underlines that statement well enough.
If the budget is the issue, why not consider another gem that is natural and untreated ?
Engraving ? The way to look at is is under UV light and observe the growth patterns !
Basically the real use for lab diamonds is in the industry so they can manufacture for example exactly calibrated sizes and specifications. The use in jewelry in my opinion has no meaning and no long term value at all.
