lab created diamonds

I heard something about lab created… does that really matter in terms of an engagement ring?

Only to the girl you give it to.

They are cheaper because they are indeed lab created. Check out this link:

Whether or not it matters to the girl is highly dependent upon the girl and what the occasion is. For a regular gift, it would be fine (I’ll take one in emerald cut!), but in my opinion, for an engagement ring, only a real diamond would do as tradition plays a major role.

Nexus diamonds are synthetic diamonds which are VERY comparable to real mined diamonds. They’re so much less expensive for that very reason. Often, jewelers cannot distinguish the difference with a naked eye. They’re called Nexus diamonds as they are only available through Nexus Diamond Labs. Heres an article re synthetic diamonds that may help:

IMHO as a girl wanting an engagement ring - I would PREFER a nexus diamond (in fact came across your question while shopping around for them) to a ‘real’ mined diamond as a.) there is no real value to a mined diamond, only perceived value. b.) I don’t want to risk aiding conflicts (i.e. blood diamonds) at worst, or supporting child labor at best for the sake of a ‘real’ diamond.

    Good luck!
