Diamond is diamond (it’s one of the states of carbon). Manufactured diamond isn’t natural, but whether it’s “fake” or not depends on your definition of “fake”.
It’s fake in the sense that it was artificially made by men and wasn’t found in the earth, naturally made.
But it’s still a diamond, its still a lot of carbon atoms bonded tightly.
Good question! How do diamonds form? Well, you need specific ingredients (carbon) and environmental conditions (High temperature and High pressure). The earth has plenty of carbon, and that carbon can get buried all sorts of ways. When geological processes transport the carbon deep enough (get it hot) and apply enough pressure (give it a good squeeze) the carbon’s molecular structure will shift and form a diamond lattice. What is a lab grown diamond made from? Carbon. Except instead of spending zillions of dollars looking for diamond deposts and zillions more mining them from the far corners of the world, technicians can place carbon in a machine that applies the exact same temperatures and pressures and end up with a real diamond. So, are lab created diamonds ‘fake’? Not at all. They’re just easier to get to, do not require nearly slave-like labor, are more pure, come in more colors and less expensive.
Depends… is it a true lab created diamond, or is it a diamond simulant? Ya know, CZ, Diamonique, blah blah blah… If it is a true lab created diamond, with all the same properties as a natural diamond, then no, it’s not fake. If it is in even one tiny way different, then yes it’s fake…. pretty simple really
